Peter Broderick never sleeps. And when he reaches for a dream, it is to burn it on an album. A multi-instrumentalist with fertile creativity and a groggy soul, he knows better than anybody how to make silence scream. A melodic partner of Nils Frahm and Efterklang, the American, clinging firmly to the summit of the brilliant Erased Tapes label, can both drop his black and white keys in albums with David Allred or cover John Cage in venues that keep asking for more. Contemporary improvisation, as solid as an iceberg in a freezer, has never been cared for so well.
