DJ PRIE NKOSAZANA / MANTHE RIBANE, KAMI AWORI / DIRTY PARAFFIN / FAKA / DJ LAG

The city of Durban boasts its very own house music. Deeply urban and uninhibited, the (particularly) young GQOM scene knocks about traditional house with real talent, throwing a few punches with uniquely rough local sounds, much like DJ Prie Nkosazana, Dirty Paraffin and DJ Lag, the 21-year-old spearhead of this barely mature horde of producers who has recently signed with the exciting British label Goon Club Allstars and who will return to Geneva! And then there’ll be the queer performances of Faka, the duo that gets people sweating wherever they go. And Manthe Ribane (who happens to be the choreographer for The Antwoord, no less) and her unique creative collaboration with Swiss electro-soul duo Kami Awori. Oh yes, and you’ll find some GQOM in Jamie XX’s famed “Gosh” for example. Get it now?
