In case you’ve slept through 2017, please be aware that a gang of Swiss kids made the most of the year to place Switzerland on the map of French-speaking hip-hop. Forget France’s MHD and Vald, Belgium’s Damso and Romeo Elvis, we’re now playing at home. Going local! French mags I-D-Vice and Les Inrocks make no mistake telling whoever was willing to read, to keep a close watch on Swiss rap. With that in mind, you should know that one of these up-and-coming artists will make a detour via Antigel for a pre-release party to celebrate a second album as highly-awaited as the thaw in Le Locle! Not even 25 and a flow capable of breaking open a national vault, Slimka seduces audiences with remarkable, off-the-wall tracks and video clips. Similarly young and promising, hip-hop/reggae/soul woman Danitsa adds her touch the line-up. Her album “Ego” was released in November and has regularly been played on the airwaves, leading her to open for Princess Nokia. Ngoc Lan and Vincz will provide the final touch for this hip-hop night. A smart set of people for sure!
