Bohren & der Club of Gore DE

The quartet has been handling Mellotron, piano, drums and double-bass for the last 20 years, creating intense cinematic journeys in the dark recesses of jazz.

When a bunch of long-haired hardcore loving rockers decide to play it softly, their rage takes refuge in velvet. Since 1984, the German outfit has drawn from the melancholy depths of the blue note with dark elegance. A quartet in the service of marginal jazz, like a soundtrack for a suffocating love story, worthy of the most fertile hangovers. There is some Badalamenti (“Twin Peaks”) in the haunting wreaths of this very unique Club. Yet, despite the thick fog, hearts sway, wonderfully suspended between the beginning of everything and the end of nothing.
