Industrial superstars

When the German masterminds of noisy music break through the cold chain to land in Antigel, it is an event. Without them, rock may not have existed.

Cult band ahead! Chainsaws, drills, nothing has ever stopped the band when it came to waving their grey and concrete vision of existence. True stars of German industrial rock, Blixa Bargeld’s gang offered a B side to a Berlin city split in two in the 80s, especially since its Dadaist leader inspired more than one hero, starting with Nick Cave, who took him by his toolbox for close to 20 years. Although chastened nowadays (the screwdrivers have been put away), the Germans have lost none of their avant-gardist poetic ethos.
