Nina Santes FR

Hymen Hymne

Who are our witches? Where do they come from? Here at Antigel? At the crossroads of documentary work and magical ritual, five performers cast a spell on the established order.

Born out of her desire to extend her work of embodying marginal characters which she began with her solo Self-made Man, Nina Santes takes hold of a new figure of otherness for her first group piece, i.e. the witch. Beyond the practice of witchcraft, she invokes this figure as a social construct: She who is branded or self-proclaimed as a witch; she who is rejected or who voluntarily chooses to live in the margins; she who is deviant, dangerous; she who takes hold of her body and actions to cast a spell on the established order.
