Before becoming a respected DJ on the underground scene, San Proper played in a variety of groups in the 90s, including The Mindmenders, a hybrid sextet that played around with R&B, funk and hip-hop. From his years as a guitarist, he has kept a certain charisma and a feeling for improvisation that lend a peculiar aura to his sets. Since his conversion to the decks, he has had the support of such leading figures as Ricardo Villalobos and Laurent Garnier, not the worst of godfathers. San Proper’s sound is heavy, a powerful shaker of house, disco and Afrobeat. No surprise then that the label Rush Hour has become like a second home for him. Young Marco, renowned for his hyper-intuitive and wonderfully eclectic sets, completes the line-up. You’ll hardly have had the time to light up on the pavement than Marco will have found the way to play some African house, followed by a Middle-eastern disco hit with an interlude of Italian house. No rest for the wicked, the Happy End Party is a serious affair!
